When an Older Parent Needs Help Keeping Up With Hobbies

[Lifestar Home careParticipant]

My father has always enjoyed working on small projects in his garage, but lately he has been spending less time on them because getting everything organized and moving things around takes more effort. He told me that he misses having something to look forward to during the day, so we started thinking about how we could make his routine easier without taking away the hobbies he enjoys. Instead of doing everything for him, we talked about having someone assist with a few household tasks so he could save his energy for his projects. While looking into home care Oklahoma City, our family realized that support at home can sometimes be about giving an older person more freedom to spend their time doing the things that make them happy. Has anyone else found ways to help an aging parent stay involved in their favorite hobbies?
